Abstract: The correlation of coal-bed gas accumulations between Tuha basin and Powder River basin is made. The reason for successful exploration of coal-bed gas with low coal rank in Powder River basin is that the real gas concentration in the high-permeable coal bed is much higher than measured gas concentration. According to superior conditions in Tuha basin, both free gas and adsorbed gas should be highlighted during its coal-bed prospecting. Meanwhile, the evaluation of three major blocks is made, and Y-1 W ellblock is ascertained to be the most favorable target among them.
