Derivation and Application of A New Water displacement Curve Equation

Abstract

Abstract: Aimed at solving the problems of semi-logrithm relationship of cumulating water output and oil output, as well as the problems for applying the Sypachev's equation, this paper based on formula f_w=1/(1+μ_w K_r0/μ₀K_rw), which is usied to calculate oilfield's composite water cut, through theory derivation, recommended a new equation, N_p=A₂+[(A₀+A₁A₂)/(L_p-A₁)], for waterflooding characteristics curve description. Application instances have demonstrated and verified that it is applicable.
