Xinjiang Petroleum Geology was established in 1997 as a national journal. The journal maintains extensive exchanges and connections with petroleum systems, research institutes, and universities across the country. It primarily reports research achievements in exploration and development of the oil-gas bearing basins in Xinjiang, while also presenting research results in petroleum geology from other oil and gas fields, research institutes, and universities.
The journal features sections such as Oil and Gas Exploration, Reservoir Engineering, Applied Technology, Discussion and Debate, Review Articles, Foreign Petroleum Geology, Profiles of Notable Figures, and News Reports.
Xinjiang Petroleum Geology is publicly distributed both domestically and internationally. The domestic price is RMB 35 per issue (published bimonthly). The annual subscription price is RMB 210. Members of the Xinjiang Petroleum Society are eligible for a discounted subscription.
