Abstract: The T2k1 reservoir in District mid-6 of Karamay field is a general heavy oil reservoir. The geological study showed that the reservoir conditions were suitable for the microbial growth, and the endogenous microbes in the produced water of the wells are abundant, with a good potential for the endogenous microbial flooding. In the activating field test of the endogenous microbes, the total bacteria concentration and the endogenous microbe numbers are increased by 1~3 magnitudes and 1~5 magnitudes, respectively. The concentrations of the acetate ions and bicarbonate ions in the produced fluid from the wells are increased substantially and obviously after the test. These indicate the endogenous microbes in the reservoir were activated distinctly, giving rise to very good activating effects.
