Abstract: Fuhai area of Xinjiang is located in north margin of Kazakhstan，adjacent to Siberian ancient plate, and belongs to island arc and back arc basin structural environ-ment with strong tectonic activity.The types of sedimentary basin constantly change in Upper Paleozoic, including oceanic basin, residual sea basin, island arc basin, periconti-nental arc basin and landlocked rift basin, etc., and there is a complete set of lithofacies types，including deep sea facies，neritic facies，littoral facies，delta facies，fluvial fades， lake facies and marsh facies.Sedimentary facies zones are complicated in distribution, and alternatively developed multiple subfacies formed mixed subfacies zones in the same area.In Late Carboniferous.following the thorough marine regression, continental deposits occourred entirely and enormous changes in paleoclimate had taken place correspondingly.At the end of Early Permian, history of Paleozoic deposition is generally finished, which is resulted in widespread absence of deposits of Late Permian in Fuhai area.
