Abstract: Based on the latest data of cores and their physical properties , an integrated discussion on the lithological characteristics and corresponding evaluation of the gas reservoirs and cap rocks in the referred area was presented with the aim of providing a beneficial insight to exploration of large and middle scale gas fields in the Northwestern Margin of Junggar Basin.
