Abstract: A set of deep- and semi-deep lacustrine sediments dominated by dark mudstone with occasional sandstone in early period of Early Jurassic were first found in Yourdus basin in 1994, with 200 m of visible thickness, in which 170 m dark mudstone of deep- and semi-deep lacustrine facies is superior source rock. This discovery is of great significance for on-going oil/gas exploration in Yourdus basin.
