Abstract: From analysis of reservoir characters in Yuguo-Yanmuxi Petroliferous area, the middle-late Yanshanmovement episode is considered to be primary stage of controlling the hydrocarbons by structures. There are five sets ofeffective reservoir-cap rock assemblages developed in Lower Jurassic to Tertiary, where many hydrocarbon-bearing sequences and reservoir types are found, and dominated by lateral hydrocarbon migration. It reflects the characters oflate-stage formation reservoirs.Hence, to grasp the way of the hydrocarbon migration in order to detailed determinethe prospecting targets in favorable directions could be as principle train of thought for further exploration of this areain future.
