Abstract: It is significant to study water-drive micro-mechanism and the distribution of residual oil in porous media for enhancing water drive efficiency. Based on an understanding of pore distribution characteristic and water-drive micro-mechanism in porous medium, in view of pore structure with single-peak logarithm normal distribution, a method for quantitative description of oil-water micro-distribution under initial condition and water-drive process is proposed in this paper. The calculation result shows that this method can directly reflect the relationship between sweep efficiency and oil-water micro-distribution during water drive process, and can be applied to analysis of pore structure with binormal and multi-peak distribution.
