Abstract: ln its high-water-cut stage, injected water cone along high-permeability zones within Lower Karamay Formation (Triassic ) conglomerale reservoir in Midle District No.6 of Karamay oilfieid. Moreover, severe sand production problem and annual decline rate of over 9.5% exist. Following a further study of oil-bearing structures and reservoir characteristics, multiple injection-production patterns were used, thereby ascertaining subsurface distribution and flow patterns of oil and waler ,and developing curing designs, When these designs were implemented in 1990-1992, it resulted in annual oil production increase by 17%, water cut reduction from 81.2% to 77.5%, subsutface reservoir pressure increase by 7%, and enhanced oil recovery from 32% to 35%。
