Abstract: For a severe conglomerate reservoir heterogeneity, cyclic water injection process may su bstantially enhance oil recovery. Cyclic pulse injection may cause the tran-sient pressure regime in the reservoir and remaining pressure in a thin aquifer. Under the capillary force. oil saturation in the thin layer and water -out reservoir can increase. Be-cause of the unscattered distribution of high- permeability main productive beds in the con-glomerate reservoir. it is suggested that the existing areal waterflood patterns be convert-ed to patterns in rows along the main per meability trend. and intermittent water flooding process in which rows of injectors work alternatively be implemented to further improve sweep efficiency and oil recovery.
