Abstract: Permian and Triassic source rocks have large thickness, stable distribution and better hydrocarbon-generation condition in Taibei sag of Turpan-Hami basin.Three sets of source-reservoir-cap assemblages are developed in Taibei sag, in which the combination of Upper Permian as source rock and Mid-Upper Triassic as reservoi r is the most favourable one, braided river delta sandbody in the south is dominant in reservoir type;two sets of local reservoircap assemblages occur in the Lower Jurassic, the distribution of thei r traps coincides with Permian and Triassic traps.Comprehensive evaluation considered that Shanshan arc-like belt, Honglian area, Pubei and northern piedmont belts are favourable one for deep hydrocarbon exploration in Taibei sag.
