Attenuation of wave amplitude of reservoir rock at simulated high temperature and pressure is measured with spectrum amplitude comparison method in laboratory. Attenuation of elastic wave amplitude in rock is affected by its temperature and pressure, filled fluid properties, fluid saturation, rock composition and structure, etc.. It decreases as the pressure increases and increases as the fluid saturation increases. The attenuation in the sedimentary rock exceeds that of igneous rock. The attenuation in the gas-bearing sands is greater than that of oil-saturated samples which in tum exceeds that of water saturated samples. These differences make it possible to carry out oil, water and gas detection with the geophysical data.

LABORATORY SIMULATION TEST AND AVO CARBONHYDROGEN DETECTION OF ELASTIC PARAMETERS IN ROCKS
Huang Kai, Yang Xiaohai, Xu Qunzhou, Lai Zhongkang, Zhang Lufei

Forward modeling with Zoeppritz equation and AVO hydrocarbon detection require the accurate reservoir properties. However, it is unlikely to obtain them with high accuracy outdoors. Laboratory simulation test in cores can solve this problem. In this study the elastic parameters are measured in the drilling ores from the pilot area under simulated subsurface temperature and pressure, and then used to carry out forward modeling with Zoepprit equation to test the hydrocarbon indication of reservoir and to conduct special AVO processing. It can be used as a supplementary tool for hydrocarbon detection seismic data.

VOLCANIC RESERVOIR DESCRIPTION WTTH LOG DATA IN SHXI OILFIELD, JUNGGAR BASIN
Dai Shihua, Jiang Shuyun, Wang Jun
    Xinjiang Petroleum Geology    1997, 18 (2): 125-129.
    Abstract111)      PDF(pc) (358KB)(240)       Save
New log techniques and methods are used for the lithology identification, determination of reservoir parameter, classification of pore type, and delineation of fracture occurrences of volcanic reservoirs in Shixi oilfield. Based on data from two wells, the probable reserves was estimated. The results show good economics.

SEISMIC INTERPRETATION AND PRESENCE OF HYDROCARBON OF MD-UPPER ORDOVICIAN REEF IN MANNAN AREA
    Shi Youhua
    Xinjiang Petroleum Geology    1997, 18 (1): 35-36.
    Abstract98)      PDF(pc) (333KB)(196)       Save
Mound seismic anomaly with resemblance to anticline has been identified in seismic profile of Mid-Upper Ordovician over Mannan area of Tarim basin, which was intepreted previously as buildup formed in sedimentary process. However, reef was widely accepted following comparism with seismic reflection characteristics of reef in Mid-Upper Ordovician of Tabei area and elsewhere in the world. The reef belonged to platform marginal barrier reef of carbonate sedimentary system in hinge zone, extending 90 km from east to west with width of 2 ~ 4 km, distributed “S” type along with the reef of Mid-Upper Ordovician. It formed the horseshoe shaped reef group in Tabei area, with the thickness up to 500 m and good reservoir quality. The reef in Mannan area should be an important target for oil and gas exploration in the future.

ANCIENT METEORITE CRATER IN TARIM BASIN
    Zhang Chuanji
    Xinjiang Petroleum Geology    1997, 18 (1): 38-38.
    Abstract284)      PDF(pc) (226KB)(214)       Save
An important meteorite collision event occurred in the Miocene in Mangar area, eastern Tarim basin, resulted in a subround ancient meteorite crater with diameter of 15 km and depth of 2 km. A suite of coarse deposits in meteorite crater resulted in basin-shaped seismic anomaly in time section which in tum caused the dome structure pseudomorph in the underlying strata due to its high seismic velocity.
