Abstract: Since 1970, petroleum geologists in USA and USSR have found that a normal geothermal anomaly occurres generally in depthvariable layers over an oilfield. According to the statistical analysis, it mainly resulted from a low abnormal geothermal gradiant of petrolifeous reservoirs and from a geothermal anomaly of pay zones spreading into shallow layers, but it had little relationships with in situ structure units,palaeo-geographic conditions, geomorphic contrasts, oiltrap types and palaeo-climates. In this result, the discovery has been turned into a kind of oil-finding method in use rapidly. More simple facilities required mainly consists of rigs carrier mounted, thermo-sensing resistances, cables and semi-conductor thermometers. It has now been proved that this method is a highly-speed and inexpensive means for non-seismic prospects .
