Abstract: Based on a lot of petroiogical, stratigraphic. tectonic and palaeotological data and using the theory of mobilism as a conceptual guide, this paper has categorized and delineated the carboniferous and permian sdimentary facies in Junggar Basin into three (3) facial areal divisions eleven (11) facial zones and thirteen (13) facies types. Further-mote, bused on their tcetonic backgroundls made them further rducted into six (6) facial series. Selimentation regime's patterns had been developed for carboniferous, early and late permian, according to theit tectonic background and distributing regularily of sedimentary facies. The destributing regularities of favorable facial zones of principal hydrocarbon generating beds, hydrocarbon reservoir beds as well as caprock beds also been stated.
