Abstract: Seventeen petroliferous basins have been found in circum-Pacific belt now and have been classified and analyzed in basinal origin, for the basins are all in the active continental margins. However, they are of differences in two sides of E-W Pacific in convergent stress field. The east side is simple; the west side is complex. The known basins are all dominated by Cenozoic petroleum systems or sequences that are closely related with the faults in both basinal formation and hydrocarbon accumulation belt formation. Although there exists big difference among the basins found in circum-Pacific petroliferous belt, their prospects of hydrocarbon Resources do not admit ignoring and be worth of in-depth researches on the whole in order to provide theoretical support for complete development in the future.

Key words: circum-Pacific belt, Andean-type, Mariana-type, petroliferous basin, fault
