Abstract: On the basis of lithology, sedimentary structure, fossils and geochemical markers, this paper systematically analyzed the sedimentary environment of Upper Permian Lucaogou formation in Aiweiergou area.Near-shore turbidite fan and typical turbidite rock are deposited on well-developed deep-lake facies sediments in this area. The deep-lake facies dark mudstone, shale and oil shale are better source rock, and the overlying Mid-Upper Triassic Xiaoquangou group is the favourable reservoir. All these support that there is higher hydrocarbon potential below Jurassic in the depression of southern Turpan-Hami basin.
