Abstract: Based on analysis of sevenc commonly used gas logging evaluation methods at home and abroad, this paper pointed out that three gas logging interpreta tion methods (gas logging evaluation ,light hydrocarbon ratio and dual logarithm ratio methods) were comparatively applicable in Junggar basin, and obtained the results matching well with the fact. When choosing gas logging interpretation method, reservoir fluid characteristics and drilling conditions must be considered , and essential correction on zonal or interval values should be made with the data while drilling. Meanwhile, gas logging interpretation should rely upon the mutual compensation of precision of each method in order to improve the precision of interpretation.
