Abstract: The southern margin of Junggar basin underwent Tianshan movement in late Himalayan orogeny and formed a series ofanticlines and related faults. Owing to its complex surface and subsurface geologic conditions, the seismic reflection data from thisarea are poor and the structural style varies and is always troublesome in discrimination. In order to establish the properstructural style, this paper takes the structural description of Gumudi anticline as an example, the fault-folded theory as a guide, and the structural modeling technique as a tool for anatomizing complex structures, finally, develops a model of structural geologyfitting for real situation of this area. The procedure for modeling is also presented herein.
