Abstract: The horizontal well following water breakthrough in bottom water reservoir is characterized by the rapid water-cut raise, the production decline, the difficult later water blockoff and the high operation cost. This paper studies the watered-out horizontal well feature in bottom water reservoir, according to water breakthrough characteristic of horizontal well, by means of physical modeling, theoretical derivation and numerical simulation, and proposes the watered-out model for horizontal wells in homogeneous and inhomogeneous reservoirs.
