THE CARBONIFEROUS AND PERMIAN AS MAJOR OIL SOURCE ROCKS IN JUNGGAR BASIN

Abstract: On the basis of comprehensively the results of geophysical prospecting, drilling, oil generation along with the strata and oil/gas shows occured in peripheral outcrop areas of Junggar Basin. it is believed that the Carboniferous and Permian act as maior oil source rocks in Junggar Basin. the crude oil found up to now in all sequences of known oil­fields within the basin originated in the Carboniferous and Permian.
