EVIDENCE FOR THE PRESENCE OF EARLY PALEOZOIC CONTINENTAL CRUST IN JUNGGAR BASIN
    Peng Xiling
    1994, 15 (4):  289-297.
    Abstract ( 124 )   PDF (839KB) ( 401 )   Save
It is concluded that Junggar area is a continental ctust rather than an oceanic crust during Early Paleozoic. based on the following evidences: geochemical components of the most widely-distributed Upper Paleozoic volcaniclastic in Junggar basin formed in the volcanic island arc area of continental margin: the Ordovician in the northern Junggar area is Composed of continental shelf platform carbonate. and similar limestone decollement was discovered in the Silurian. indicating that the basement of ocean basin is a stable continental block ; composite rocks (1 900ma) were found in the eastern Junggar area; the basin is at the stage of continental basin evolution during the Late aleozoic to middle Cenozoic.

ON THE JURASSIC AND BASEmENT OF JUNGGAR BASIN AND ITS PERIPHERAL BASIN

    1994, 15 (4):  298-300.
    Abstract ( 92 )   PDF (359KB) ( 194 )   Save
The Jurassic in Junggar basin and its fifeen peripheral basins is a conbination of sequence with fair hydrocarbon potential: middle and Lower Jurassic are considered to be the source rock and resetvoir. and Upper Jurassic as the reservoir and regional caprock. According to the nature of basement. these basins can be divided into two categories; intermediate massif basin. with old craton of the Presinian period as basement, and intramontane basin. with new craton of the Hercynian period as basement. The fo:mer are nostly an inherited basin. with various oil-bearing sequences and betler oil potential; and the latter are mostly a residual basin. with complex hydtocarbon condition. Lower Catboniferous in Junggar basin is onmetamorphic paralic facies. and Devorian is also nonmetamotphic except in verv few aleas. As a results. this sequence should be considered as the caprock rather than as the basement.

    Abstract ( 81 )   PDF (728KB) ( 298 )   Save
Abnormal pressure was discovered in Well Pencan 2 and Well Pen 4 in maqiao uplift of the hinterland of Junggar basin. with top sealing bed at a buriai of 4 485m under which an abnormally high presure zone exist. Oil and gas from the intetval (3 835~5 135m) of Well Pencan 2 are featured with vertical migration and mixed sources. New theory on petroleum geology“fluid kitchen”was successfully used to analyse the model for formatior of resetvoir. moreover. facies belt of hydrocarbon in different temperature-pressure zones was predicted.

Using fluorescent microscope. assisted with reflecting and scanning electron microscope, an accurate evaluation of hydrocarbon source rock can be obtained. Organic macerals in Jurassic soutce rock in Well Pencan 2 and well Pen 4 of the hinterland of Junggar basin are dominated by algae amorphous mass (51%~96%). In Sangonghe Formation shale , Cainan oilfield. amorphous mass can reach as high as 93.88%. or microsome accounts for 83.95%. which oil formed at R.< <0. 73%.

    1994, 15 (4):  328-334.
    Abstract ( 71 )   PDF (560KB) ( 287 )   Save
The application of biomarkers in the gas-souce study of high-over mature gases is introcuced by means of cast history study. It is asrertained that the natural gas in Fuyang oil layer in Wangjialun-Songzhan areas is mainly sourced from the deep Jurassic coal scams. which lnigrates vertically and accumulatcs in a nearest place in a wholc. Finally. it is suggestcd that gas-source of high -over miature gases using biomarkers is a practical method.

In eastern Junggar basin. seven Jurassic alluvial depositional sequences bounded by eight unconformities have been delineated from the integrated interpretation of outcrop. drilling and seismic data. each of which is 1 00 ~ 300m thick. alluvial allocycle thinning upwards. and contains low system tracts of low stand and high stand. In low stand system tract. facies belts of alluvial fan. braided stream. shale-rich. low-sinuosity stream. and meander stream ate distributed in consecutivc order from the margin to center of the basin. In high stand one. coarse clastic sediments are missing at the margin of the existing basin. which is composed of meander stream or swamp facies throughout the basin. The surface of unconformity. deporsitional sequence. and system tract ate all contolled by repeated tectonic. uplift subsidence and still.

The present method for treating oil-water per meability curves is improved. The base of this method is to ncrmalized and to average relative permeability curves. By using relationship between the irreducible water saturation、 the residural oil saturation. the wwater relative permeability at residtlal oil saturation and the air permeability as w'ell as. the normalized average relative permeablity'. one (an obtain oil-water relative permeability at different ait permeability in which the shape of oil-phase relative permcability curves keeps constant and the shape of water-phase relative permeability curves varies with the air permeability.

This paper summarizes the development characteristics of Wangchang oilficld and similar ficlds in the U. S. A and Russia. compates and analyzes their levcl of development. and discusses the problems of timing for water flood and EOR. as wel as prcduction uinder enlarging pr essure differentials. It js suggested that the development level of Wangchang oilfield approaches or surpasses that of similar fields in the U.S. A and Russia; for unsaturated sandstone oilfields. it is inappropriate to be produced under excessively enlatging pressure differentials ;and secondary and teriary recovery processes should be started at the time when IeServoir pressure is s0 depleted that peak production and steady production can not be maintained.

    Abstract ( 65 )   PDF (279KB) ( 149 )   Save
After guar gum fluid fracturing in several wells produced from Wuerhe Formation reservoir in southern District No. 5 of Karamay oilfield. the significant difference in physical preperties of crude oil ensued. which was embodied as follows : noninflammable on ignition. brown colloid at ambient temperature. and difficulty in conventional analysis. These problems arise from guar gum fracturing fluid. Viewing that it is recommended that sesbania fluid is preferentially used rather than guar gum fluid on fracturing treatment under present conditions.

Thistyqe of fractring has the characteristics of shorter fracture and lower eost compared with usual fracluting in the same ftactrore: conductivity. so it is nainly. adapted for water flooding and middle -high permeability restivoir.
